Kenojuak Ashevak’s upcoming exhibition

Feheley Fine Arts is happy to present the long-awaited retrospective exhibition of Kenojuak Ashevak‘s works, including sculpture, prints, and drawings spanning her fifty-year artistic career.

Since she began her practice in the 1950s, Ashevak experimented with a diverse range of mediums, including etching and engraving, lithography, etching and aquatint, and even glass. She is best known for her graphic and often symmetrical drawings of birds and other Northern wildlife. Ashevak’s works are held in over fifteen esteemed collections around the world.

Ashevak, who passed away in January 2013, was a well-loved member of the community. In fact, the new Cape Dorset Cultural Centre, commencing construction in the summer of 2015, is to take her name.

The exhibition will take place at Feheley Fine Arts from June 7 to July 19, 2014.  Images are available for viewing online here. We are also pleased to release over 100 of Kenojuak Ashevak’s works into our database, in addition to the exhibition.
