In Inuktitut, the hamlet of Baker Lake is called Qamani’tuaq—“where the river widens.” Known as one of the most artistic communities in the Canadian arctic, Baker Lake is also one of the most geographically interesting: it is the North’s sole inland community with one of the harshest climates in North America.
