We are pleased to present a selection of prints from Ulukhaktok (Holman Island), a small community on Victoria Island in the Inuvialuit region of Canada’s Northwest Territories. Printmaking in Ulukhaktok began in the mid-1960s through the Ulukhaktok Co-operative, with its first official collection released in 1965. This exhibition brings together works by celebrated artists including Helen Kalvak, Mark Emerak, and Peter Aliknak, among others. Spanning the years 1968 to 1987, the collection captures the Co-operative’s most active and prolific period, offering a vivid glimpse into a defining era of artistic production in the North.
