From Points to Prints
October 8 – 31, 2026
“The exhibition From Points to Prints is a survey of artwork covering the period from 2007 to 2025. I never set out to be a photographic artist. I fell into it when I acquired a 35 mm canon camera through Club Z points. I started out through a photojournalistic lens, capturing elements of life and realities of the Inuit living in the Ottawa region and then sharing them with whomever was interested in my images. My theme is Urban Inuit, and through my art, I highlight the vibrancy, cultural traditions, practices and activities of urban Inuit Life in Ottawa.
Having been selected by the Ottawa School of Art to be apart of their Visiting Artist program for 2025, was an honour and opportunity to share my artwork with a newer audience. I had the ability to highlight a selection of my works to date, with the ability to showcase my progression and range both in artistic endeavors and subject matter.
From an early age, I always had an artistic mind, and it took me a very long time to find my artistic voice through photography. I base my practice on a multidisciplined approach, through life’s learning and practices. I try not to pigeonhole myself as I find that to be the best way to enhance my practice and approach to art. My photographic objectives have been to help build a foundation for photography within Inuit art and to create a new canon so to speak through what I call Contemporary urban Inuit Art photography.”
