On the evening of May 20, 2014, Feheley Fine Arts was happy to host the launch of Tanya Tagaq’s latest CD,  Animism.

Six Shooter Records describes the album with the following:  “Animism … was produced by west coast shape-shifter Jesse Zubot (Dan Mangan, Fond of Tigers).  The record features Michael Red (Low Indigo), a sound sampler and DJ whose wild northern field recordings often serve as Tanya Tagaq’s de facto backing band, percussionist Jean Martin and Spanish opera singer Anna Pardo Canedo.”

At the launch, the Inuk throat singer was accompanied by violin and drums;  the trio amazed the private audience with a performance that was mixture of improvisation and selected songs from the album.
