Fenwick Lansdowne Book Launch

Last weekend, Feheley Fine Arts hosted the launch of J. Fenwick Lansdowne, a book designed by the renowned Canadian painter’s son, Tristram Lansdowne. The book contains numerous photographs of the artist, in addition to over 160 full colour reproductions of Fenwick Lansdowne’s works.

The gallery’s very own Pat Feheley authored an essay in the publication. Pat’s contribution looks at Fenwick Lansdowne’s relationship with her father, Budd Feheley. Budd, the original founder of Feheley Fine Arts, was also the friend and manager of Fenwick, and assisted with developing his artistic career.

Born in Hong Kong, Fenwick Lansdowne grew up in Victoria, British Columbia, and was a self-taught wildlife painter. He worked primarily in watercolour, and is often compared to the 19th-century painter John James Audubon. He died in 2008 at the age of 71.
