Nicotye Samayualie in Toronto

We are very fortunate to have Cape Dorset artist Nicotye Samayualie in Toronto for the opening reception of her first solo exhibition.

While only in the city for less than a week due to weather conditions in the Arctic, Nicotye has been busy. Friday morning, the artist and Pat Feheley gave a tour of the gallery and exhibition to the third and fourth grade students of Voice Integrative School. Nicotye enjoyed sharing the stories and meanings behind her drawings with the students.

Additionally, Nicotye Samayualie and six month old Norman were able to visit Dorset Fine Arts, and tour the BMO art collection and TD Financial Bank Group’s permanent Inuit collection.

Saturday morning, they enjoyed attending Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada. They are looking forward to their opening reception and artist talk today, February 28, from 3-5 PM.

Nicotye Samayualie’s exhibition of original drawings will be on the walls from February 28 – March 28, 2015.
